For more than a century, private philanthropy has been essential to the preservation and protection of America’s national parks, the world’s greatest collection of nature, history and culture.

Chartered by Congress in 1967, the National Park Foundation raises essential funds to meet the most critical needs of the National Park Service. Through its work, NPF helps to fund conservation and habitat restoration efforts, connect youth - specifically inner city and disadvantaged kids - to parks, promote citizenship, and preserve and tell the stories of our history in the places that it actually happened.

An independent nonprofit organization, the National Park Foundation remains wholly supported by private contributions and receives no federal appropriations.
