I live and work in Cape Town, South Africa. As for photography, I think I was born snap-happy...

Photography is many things, most importantly, a away of documenting life - writing history in pictures. So, at first and subconciously, it was a way to document my life and those in my life with a Kodak Instamatic 76x point-and-shoot camera. Since those days, I rather prefer to be behind the lens than in the frame.

I love photographing people in their natural habitat, depicting human nature to the core. I see beauty in simplicity, sincerity and the sensitivity of mankind. Of course, as a realist, I photograph the flipside of the coin too.

Film photography remains my first love. Although these days, I mainly shoot digital.

My photographic style has been described as avant garde. To me, it is a fusion of documentary photography, photo journalism and the decisive moment. I don't overthink an image. I shoot from the hip - what I see, when I see it and how I see it, to keep it real.

An ideal world for me, would be where my eye is the lens, which with every blink, captures the amazing things I see around me all the time and yet am unable to capture due to the nature of the fleeting moment. Many of those fleeting moments are now images in my mind which still haunts me...

I am available for assignments worldwide.
