Yoan-Loïc Faure feeds essentially on the street, rich alive, sounds and movements, and is so interested in people. He looks in his portraits to represent them simply but with character while trying to contain them in a particular atmosphere. A journey in Central Europe urges him all the more to want to emphasize people through photo-reports.

 

He looks quite particularly for to create a certain timelessness in his pictures thanks to retro atmospheres owed to washed-out colors and to his interest for black and white (and certainly also in his interest for the 70s).

 

Having had the opportunity to learn his bases in passing whole nights in a black and white lab, he then went to the digital technology and now sees in this last one a new ground of experiment.

 

His ceaseless thirst of musical discovery and the envy to photograph its meetings urge him unconsciously to make photos of concert. Little by little, he puts a lot for the groups he likes, in particular in the scene of Marseilles. In spite of a desire to remain discreet, he is ready all the same for everything to have the ideal composition: level with the ground or climbing on guitar amps, in contortionist's positions or plunging in pogo height... the purpose always being to highlight the atmosphere and the expressions of people.

   

 

Yoan-Loïc Faure se nourrit essentiellement de la rue, riche en vie, sons et mouvements, et s’intéresse ainsi aux gens. Il cherche dans ses portraits à les représenter simplement mais avec caractère tout en essayant de les englober dans une atmosphère particulière. Un voyage en Europe Centrale le pousse d’autant plus à vouloir mettre en valeur les gens à travers des photo-reportages.

 

Il recherche tout particulièrement à faire apparaître une certaine intemporalité dans ses clichés grâce à des ambiances rétro dues à des couleurs délavées et à son intérêt pour le noir et blanc (et certainement aussi à son intérêt pour les années 70).

 

Ayant eu l’opportunité d’apprendre ses bases en passant des nuits entières dans un labo noir et blanc, il s’est ensuite dirigé vers le numérique et voit dans ce dernier un nouveau terrain d’expérimentation.

 

Son incessante soif de découverte musicale et l’envie de photographier ses rencontres le poussent inconsciemment à faire des photos de concert. Petit à petit, il s’investit pour les groupes dont il a un coup de cœur, en particulier dans la scène marseillaise. Malgré un désir de rester discret, il est quand même prêt à tout pour avoir la composition idéale : au ras du sol ou grimpant sur les amplis, dans des positions de contorsionniste ou plongeant en plein pogo… le but étant toujours de faire ressortir l’atmosphère et les expressions des gens.
