-- Slowing down and returning to the simple things in life. It's nice!

-- Although photography is seldom about the equipment, and usually about the vision, however, over the past 50 years or so I've gobbled up a pile of cameras and lenses in a search for additional capabilities.

-- The glass is important in many instances, so too the box, but the vision and execution far outweighs most of the technical advantages of "Super-sharp." "Super-fast," or "Super-new."

-- I enjoy the larger format cameras for production work, but for my own pleasure it's more convenient to use the small cameras - both film and digital. Even the old SLR's are fine for a time. I'm beginning to appreciate "small" more and more.

-- That's why the little rangefinder cameras of the 50's, 60's, & 70's are so cherished. The Canon S95 and other small digital boxes are winning a place in my heart with their fine resolution, immediacy of viewing and portability. If I ever find my Retina IIIC it may become the pocket-cam that it used to be. Evolution continues.

-- I tend to gravitate toward Leica, Canon, Yashica, Nikon, Olympus, and the Russians for 35mm work. Medium format stuff is placed on the shoulders of my RB's, a "Baby Speed Graphic," and an old Yashica TLR.

-- A recently acquired Century Graphic is winning a place in my heart as a hand held camera.

-- Large format stuff is relegated to the Crown Graphic and the Calumet. Pinhole work is done with a Canon EOS 30D or a 4x5 wooden box.

-- With halting success I'm being dragged into the digital world. On the camera side of things the immediacy of the image is beguiling. The lack of wet chemistry is a certain kind of "plus." On the computer side of things I'm enamored of post processing techniques that were never dreamed of while I was getting older. I'm exploring HDR, Panorama, and other computer techniques. Success and failure both provide learning!

-- I'm currently busy unpacking the treasures of the past and making sure that they all work. Now that's a trip down memory lane. This is the first time in my life I've been in one place for more than five years.

-- Every camera and bit of photo gear pictured is owned by me and was used, (some more than others,) for general or specific situations.

-- Gee whiz, I do too much fiddlin'.
