Ol Beach formed Yellowire in 2010. Since then they’ve performed at HMV's Next Big Thing, Isle of Wight Festival, Rock am Ring and Rock im Park, Hard Rock Calling in Hyde Park, Latitude festival and Reading and Leeds festival, toured across the UK, Europe and more recently in the US (Nashville no less!)
Debut album Machines On Fire was released through indie label idrecords in August 2011 (distributed by Universal, worldwide). Jimmy Turrell (Dazed and Confused, The Prodigy, Getty, The Wall Street Journal, The Observer) made the artwork, including the huge limited edition pack. He did such a good job showcasing Yellowire’s work that the album has been featured in Creative Review… twice.
‘Where Is Summer’, ‘One Last Breath’, ‘Starlife’, ‘Machines On Fire’ and ‘Set You Free’ were released as singles in 2011.
The ‘Starlife’ and ‘Starlife, Making Of’ video were released as part of the Machines On Fire iTunes LP, along with 2 unreleased tracks (only available on itunes) and lots of other exclusive visual content! The videos were made by ML Studios, the team behind recent Chemical Brothers visuals.
Yellowire are playing live and working hard making new material. The first offering from this new recording ‘7 Hours to Sunlight’ is available on iTunes now. This is an early release of the new material that Yellowire have been working on since their US tour in December 2011. They went back to Nashville in January to squeeze in some recording and will be sharing more of this material in the next few months (live and releases coming soon).
