YEALLOW is a rock alternative band formed by four musicians – Fred (vocals, guitars, keyboard), T (lead guitar, backing vocals), Piment (drums) and Bill (bass, keyboard).

The idea for the project was born in 2006 in Strasbourg. A debut home mixed EP – One – digitally released in 2008 quickly found its audience cosmopolitan and trans-generational. On top of this, they managed to get some international sales is even some promising reviews. In 2009, a viral film for SFR uses the title “Temptation” as the soundtrack for the launch of its new product.

In late 2009, the group, composed of five musicians with Pascal (vocals, guitar, keyboard) goes back to the studio for his second album.

By mixing in analogy at the studio Grenat in Strasbourg and the mastering being taken care of by Jay Franco from Sterling Sound New York (Art Brut, Coldplay ,…), Yeallow demonstrates again their ambition to be at the heart of an international scene alternative rock, energetic and neat. “2891 seconds” as the duration of the album, offers the fusion of the world of the five members. It is an elegant mix of analogue and electronic sounds that may suggest roots in the side of Bowie, Lou Reed or Radiohead.

For Yeallow, rock can not be improvised. One can feel its licked riffs, its chords and graphed effects. And if that artistic quality is expressed in hard album, it makes total sense on stage where the band gives way to real shows that carry the audience into the world of electrified rock. Ultimately each musician has found its rightful place in the style and rhythms.

In early 2010, everything accelerates. FNAC partnership initiated by the head of FNAC Strasbourg, allows the group to present their album on a Showcase in all of the Fnac in the country and a physical distribution deal was quickly signed with a national player. Sent to many media, the album gets rave reviews from thirty print and web and radio broadcasts in France, Belgium, England, Russia, USA and Japan.

After many concerts in Alsace and especially at the festival of Artefacts 2010 in front of a large and conquered audience, YEALLOW hits the scene of the Bus Palladium in July 2010 and comes to conquer a Parisian audience in search of discovery. A few venues later and in parallel with a new album in the making, it’s at the end of 2010 that YEALLOW is approached by a tour and events organizer in California based in Los Angeles. It offers them a dozen dates in the venues and clubs of the city as the Cat Club, the Mess bar, the Whisky a Go Go in Los Angeles and in San Francisco at the Kimos. In all, seven dates in California from March 25 to April 8, 2011.

From acoustic concerts (Goom Radio – Live SFR- to more muscular shows, YEALLOW takes another dimension in Live. To manage the development of the group and to take the next steps, professional support was needed. Since early 2011, Yeallow entrusted its management to his English manager Amina Martin – Rubis Management LTD – and his booking to David Killhoffer booking agent – Music For Ever (Scorpions, Popa Chubby, Pat MacManus, …). In July 2011, Pascal left the band.

The four remaining members continue to expand on the international indie rock scene. Having conquered the audience during the presentation of 10 new titles in Germany in late August, a UK tour is in preparation for October and in addition a new album at the end of 2011.

L’idée du projet naît en 2006 à Strasbourg. Un premier album EP – One – réalisé en home studio sorti en digital en 2008 rencontre rapidement son public cosmopolite et trans-générationnel et fait même quelques ventes internationales et des avis prometteurs. En 2009, un film viral pour SFR utilise le titre « Temptation » comme bande son pour le lancement d’un de ses nouveau produit.

En 2009, le groupe se forme à 5 avec Pascal (chant, guitare, clavier) et prend les chemins du studio pour son deuxième album. Mixé en analogique au studio Grenat à Strasbourg et masterisé à New-York par Jay Franco (Art Brut, Coldplay,…) chez Sterling Sound. Les Strasbourgeois démontrent alors leur ambition de se situer au cœur d’une scène pop rock énergique mais soignée. “2891 seconds”, comme la durée de l’album, propose un univers fusionnel et mixe avec élégance des sonorités analogiques et électroniques pouvant suggérer des racines du coté de chez Bowie, Lou Reed ou encore Radiohead.

Pour Yeallow, le rock ne s’improvise pas. On le sent par les riffs léchés, les accords et les effets millimétrés. Et si cette démarche artistique de qualité s’exprime sur support album, elle prend tout son sens sur scène où le groupe laisse place à de vrais spectacles qui emportent le public dans l’univers pop rock électrisé et élégant du groupe. Au final un style et des rythmes dans lesquels chaque musicien a trouvé sa juste place.

Durant l’ année 2010, tout s’accélère (partenariat FNAC, distribution CD nationale, digital internationale) et l’album obtiendra des chroniques élogieuses auprès d’une trentaine de supports papiers et web et des diffusions radio en France, Belgique, Angleterre, Russie, Etats-Unis et au Japon. De nombreux concerts emmèneront le groupe du Festival des Artefacts 2010 au Bus Palladium à Paris, en passant par le Noumatrouff de Mulhouse, privilégiant les scènes de musiques actuelles et des productions atypiques (cinema avec film en première partie de concert, galeries de verre…).

En 2011, repéré par un tourneur indé californien, Yeallow part à la rencontre d’un public US en jouant de Los Angeles à San Francisco dans des lieux mythiques et arty : Cat Club, Mezz Downtown, Whisky a Gogo de Sunset Bld, LA…

De retour des USA, Yeallow décide de renforcer sa personnalité en misant sur un son plus personnel renforçant des intentions rock et electro. Le groupe rencontre également Amina Martin (Rubis Management Ltd UK) qui devient son manager appuyé par Music For Ever (David Kilhoffer) au booking live. En juillet 2011, Pascal décide de quitter le groupe .

C’est en formation à quatre que Yeallow poursuit son développement sur la scène rock indé internationale. Après avoir conquis le public lors de la présentation test de 10 nouveaux titres en Allemagne fin août, une tournée UK est en prévision pour octobre et un nouvel album fin d’année 2011.
