I want to take photos of views that leave me numb.

A good photo takes my breath away and gives me a feeling of being the most unimportant thing in the world. It sucks me in, to the point where I'm sure nothing matters apart from what my eyes are taking in at that moment.

That's the art of photography, as opposed to mere aesthetic - the point where the sight from your eyes reaches your nerves, triggers forgotten emotions, and fills you up with a feeling words can't describe.
