Software Architect by profession and photo enthusiast by passion. Used to go around in school toting a Zenith SLR so old and rickety, that it made people jump whenever it's shutter released.

Took a B&W photography course early on using a Rolleicord 120mm, and a Bell & Howell (I think) 8mm film camera. The only moive I produced (for the exam) was a friend acting drunk with a dog under a street lamp, disastrously emulating the character from Bengali fiction 'Devdas'. (The disaster being the escape of the dog from the sets having bitten my friend)

Though this incident dampened my cinematography, my interest in still photogrphy continued. Extensive International travel later on only accentuated it, I was drawn to digital photography very early due it's implicit potential for instant gratification.

I like to travel a lot and this wanderlust probably influences the choice of my subjects. Each place has a spirit of it's own, something that makes it tick and makes people stop and take notice. I try my best to capture the essence of this character, colour and vibrance of a place whenever I find an opportunity (and time).

I have been planning for a long time, but managed to join in only about a month ago. I must say I am thrilled with the experience so far, wishing I'd joined sooner. I can see myself enjoying and sharing, for a long time to come, with the amazingly talented, enthusiastic, diverse and vibrant community that makes Flickr what it is.
