I'm an avid bird watcher with a decent camera, not a bird photographer! Yes, there is a difference! I've travelled extensively in East and Southeast Asia. I've lived in Japan for around 30 years and visited , South Korea, Taiwan, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia.

I currently reside in Tennessee and lived in California, Hawaii and Guam. I've also visited Mexico and Belize with plans for Costa Rica and/or Panama, Dominican Republic, Columbia, Ecuador, Peru and Argentina.

Besides birding, I love nature in general, from Ants to Zebras! I'm also a whisk(e)y nerd, Bourbon, Japanese & Islay Scotch please!

I like many ethnic foods from the sublime flavors of Japan, to exotic Thai and Mexican cuisine to good old southern BBQ.

Dad to three grown children with 6 grandchildren and a wonderful teenage stepdaughter that has been with me since first grade!
