I'm not a photographer. I do get lucky with my camera. And when I'm not lucky enough . . . well, I use Ulead PhotoImpact, although I own PhotoShop CS2 (which i use when the spirit moves me - or gives me a big push out of my chair).

I began a gallery here at flickr just for my knitting and it has turned into the most wonderful adventure! I have met and been inspired by so many people. I feel very fortunate.... and very happy! :)

As for my "feeble attempts," I assure you that I am not self-deprecating, nor 'fishing' for compliments. Honestly, I don't know a thing about photography! I have a smart camera and I get very lucky. I set my camera on the 'P' setting and push the little button. So many of you (my friends and contacts - and those of you who I don't have listed only because of time constraints) KNOW so much about photography and cameras and I am always amazed, astounded and delighted with your photos!

I have been taking photos for awhile - you can see my original gallery. My father was a professional photographer, but didn't teach us anything about it. I just remember being in his darkroom - in the dark - for long stretches at a time, smelling the chemicals and wondering what the heck he was doing. We accompanied him on photo shoots, but stayed quietly in the background. He's in Heaven now, but I do think that he "helps" me when I'm using my camera - and that's why I get so lucky!

I am a woman, citizen of the World,

I am a mama/wife/daughter/sister/auntie/cousin/niece/friend/violin teacher,

I am a professional violinist by vocation.

I have a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from The Eastman School of Music and a Master of Music in Violin Performance from The New England Conservatory.

*if you want to see my entire face (as opposed to just the right half) look through this set*

btw, i lost an asterisk when i was typing this, so it may show up in some unexpected place - either that or ctrl + 8 does something that i don't know! (silly me, i thought that i was hitting shift + 8)

My family is the most important thing in my life. I'm married to the most incredible man and I have two beautiful, amazing daughters. I feel so lucky about that. My hubby and I have the same exact jobs (that wasn't a typo - making a living as a professional musician requires that we have more than one job) so we are together 24/7/365. Luckily for us it's a really great thing.

I teach private violin lessons and my students range in age from 5 to 55. My other job is playing in the Tucson Symphony Orchestra and the TS0 String Quartet (click on my name to read more). I'm also a member of The Southwest String Quartet.

I use an Olympus C8080, Sony Cybershot U and an Aiptek pocket dv.

I now have a Nikon D40 and I'm just learning to use this fabulous cam. I LOVE it!!! I will never give up my C8080 because even though it's a difficult cam, i love the wonky photos that it takes.

I really like taking pictures of flowers and my cats, but will take pictures of just about anything and everything.

I'm also an avid knitter and would rather sit at my computer than practice. Of course, it goes without saying, *everything* is better with coffee, particularly Starbucks, although I prefer my own morning cuppa brewed with beans from either Trader Joe's (volcano is the BEST) or, you guessed it, Starbucks. why, oh why, can't I get paid to sit and knit and drink coffee at Starbucks?

I don't think that anyone should live without flowers, cats, coffee and chocolate - to be without just isn't right.

i dream a lot and am always pondering the meanings. I have an ability to know some things that will happen in the future, but i never listen to my hunches until it's too late.

Lastly, I am ¾ Chinese and ¼ Mexican, but my favorite foods are sushi and coffee (and i adore watermelon and any kind of soup). Go figure!

I consider myself very lucky to have met Wynne via Flickr. Wynne is a great woman whose creative work shows so much sensitivity and imagination. I consider myself very lucky to have met Wynne via Flickr. Wynne is a great woman whose creative work shows so much sensitivity and imagination. She wrote in her profile ..."I do get lucky with my camera."...I would tend to disagree with her, because I think she is so talented that it becomes natural. Wynne is not only a great musician and a great photographer...... she is a pretty good writer also.... and this I know from all the wonderful comments she has written about my images. Wynne you are a true artist and I wish you good luck in all your ventures. Thanks for your generosity! Gaëtan

If you were to ask me who on Flickr best characterizes sensitivity and grace, I would say Wynne without hesitation. Her photos come from the heart and she is genuinely enthusiastic about her art and that of others who are fortunate to be her contacts here. I'm guessing that her career in music has heightened her sensitivity to the nuances of fine photography; there is something special in the way she presents her images that is music to the eyes.

•pearl grace has taught me that great photos don't need to shout out loud. While other photographers jostle to catch your attention with photoshoppery, special effects, busy action and pyrotechnics, her work just dazzles you into admiration with a quiet serenity like soft sunshine. She has a great eye for composition and colour, and I regularly go to her stream when I'm in need of cheering up or feel short of inspiration. Hers is a pure, serene voice that cuts through a brash, noisy and overcrowded photographic world.
