I am a long-time amateur who started with a box camera at age 10 and have progressed to relatively good equipment in old age. Like many I have albums of old prints, boxes of slides half-organized and computer photo files that need to be edited and organized. For editing I switched from Apple's Aperture to Lightroom Classic and although I've been a member of Flickr for years, I only began to seriously use it in the summer of 2016.

My interests include anthropology, history, ornithology and archaeology, and I have volunteered on archaeological sites in the WesternUS and Ireland. I have written short pieces for several outdoor magazines which have published a few of my photos.

I have lived for extended periods in Washington, DC, Japan and now Seattle, Washington. Travels in recent years have taken me to Canada, South Korea, Ireland, Mexico, Kenya, Tanzania and frequently to California.
