Both Des (and his wife Joan) have been a positive influence on my since I first met them while I was a whippersnapper at the age of eleven. With friendly chat, good advice and and open door they helped steer my growth into an adult. As a result of this I was lucky to see Des' other and earlier artistic work such as his drawings and paintings. It's great to see that the transition from this to photography as an outlet has not affected the quality of his work. His work is fantastic and refreshing, and an inspiration, and has encouraged me to try different things. Cheers Des,
