I have been interested in photography for a long time, but for most of my life I have just taken regular snaps with a camera. When I was young I saved and bought an SLR camera (Olympus OM-10). I took as many photos as I could afford to with that. Film photography has a significant disadvantage in regards to cost of photos!
I took photos with the SLR for about a year or so, but then stopped. Some years later I got a point and shoot (still film) and then began just taking snaps of places I went. I still have all those photos, but the majority are very boring. I progressed through several digital point and shoot cameras and then over past several years started using iPhones as my cameras as the quality had become good.
Occasionally I'd go on a photo shoot with my iPhone and try to take some artistic photos. For some years (in fact ever since I moved to Australia) I had the idea of getting an SLR camera and getting back into photography. Early 2014 I got my first digital SLR, a Canon 600D with two lenses (18-55mm and 55-250mm). I have been enjoying going on photo shoots with this camera. I've been getting up early mornings to get sunrises.
My goal is to get better at taking photos that look interesting and appealing. I feel I have improved and hope to keep on getting better.
I have found Flickr to be an excellent place to get ideas as to what makes a good photo. It is also nice to join a community.

It has been my great pleasure to meet Wyncliffe on here. He is a wonderful flickr friend to have, loyal and encouraging and willing and happy to share and help in every way he can . I have a great respect for the passion he has for photography and the great respect he shows to the community and to fellow members on here. He has already started his own group on flickr and really is a great asset to the Flickr community and to the Eastern Suburbs Flickr community in Sydney. I highly recommend Wyncliffe to all :)
