Wye Valley Runners was formed in November 1983 and is a running club which appeals to runners of all abilities and places a strong emphasis on social activities.

Wye Valley Runners secured the men's and ladies team titles in the 2011/12 Herefordshire cross country winter league which is a highly competitive series. In addition Wye Valley Runners field teams at National level..

Many members take part in races throughout the country, and groups from the club have travelled abroad in recent years to take part in high profile events in places such as Berlin, New York & Amsterdam and we are planning a trip to the Lisbon Half Marathon in March 2012.

We also organise running weekends in such places as the Brecon Beacons and the Scottish Highlands. In addition we enter teams for the increasingly popular Cotswold Relay and organise a coach trip to the Swansea Bay 10k.

Wye Valley Runners have alway placed a strong emphasis on social activities and throughout the year members organise other events such as walking in the Lakes, canoeing on the Wye or cycling in the Wye Valley. During the Christmas period we organise a Christmas Party, Fancy Dress Run and a Christmas Forage. Throughout the year members organise social evenings including quiz and curry nights.
