Being the oldest of 3 girls, I have always craved the desire to be unique. Maybe not craved but being that I am an untold story, I strive for it. Photography has always been a given for me. I guess it’s hard to really remember when I first knew my life long passion would be photography. I remember holding my first SLR when I was 9; my aunt Jean received a Pentax SLR for her graduation gift. She let me play and from that day, my desire to capture the beautiful world came alive. I began to see the inner beauty of people and the hidden photograph in everyday life. Being analytical has given me a third eye, intuition to make a photo. I have faith and spirituality that draws me close to the soul of a person. I snap the shutter to make a beautiful photo. I see the world through the lens, and it doesn’t even matter if I have my camera.
I can sum up in three words what makes my mind tic… past, present, and future. Being a modern photographer, I remember the past, embrace the present and look forward to the future. I do my best to incorporate the beauty of what my eye sees and make it a beautiful photograph. I do not limit myself to a specific type of photography. I have passion for people, understanding the inner and outer beauty they portray. I read their characteristics and envision what they want while incorporating my own vision. The way I photograph is a process in which I find hard to explain. The photos I make come alive by the amount of passion and desire to create that image. When photographing people, I like to capture ‘their’ moment in time. I am also drawn to Street photography and uncanny Architecture. I love lines, structure, awkward framing, color, and contrast. Life is interesting, the world is amazing and the land we walk on is our canvas and it must be used.
I have shot a lot of photos, but every day something surprises me. I have only just begun to understand the true science of Photography. But each and everyday I love my photos more. Photography is my passion! It provides me with a sense of accomplishment. I have a strong determination to amaze the world. Since starting at Brown College in April 2009 to complete my Bachelor degree in Digital Photography. I have found a sense of satisfaction that I have never felt. It is challenging at times, but so worth it. I have met some of the greatest people. Networking has turned out amazing. It has opened up doors for me with Urban Arts. I have ten photos that will be featured in an upcoming art show. The best thing I can say about doing what I love is the way I feel. I feel free, creative, confident, proud, and important. I feel like I am doing what I set out to do.
