I am a ex Merchant Navy officer who has always had an interest in the sea and the craft that sail on it.

I have sailed on most types of ships from 100T Tugs to 85,000T bulk carriers.

Recreational craft I have owned and sailed include Windsurfers, Hobbiecats, and yachts up to 40 feet.

In 2002 I bought a Beneteau 393 Oceanis and sailed her single handed for the next 2 years to France, Spain, Portugal and Spain again as I headed south.

I have now sold my yacht and reside in Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands.
