"all i can do in this life is be me, whoever that is."

"i just like shooting".

Henri Cartier-Bresson

i bought a camera in late january 2007 and i started to take photos of where i lived (Belfast, N. Ireland). the first photos were mainly landscapes and abstract shots, just experimenting and learning how to use a camera.

after a few months i started to get bored with landscapes, so i started to go into the city with my camera and took shots of people going about their business. some shots i took, i knew were good instantly; and some i discovered were good, long after i put them into my photo library. and the rest, the vast majority of shots that i've taken are nothings, pure and simple.

so then i have gravitated towards street photography. faces say so much about a person. you can tell a lot about someone's past from studying their face. it is not easy, but i love it. when i was living in the city you notice diversity in the faces, but homogeneity in the attire, especially in the young. but moving into rural parts you tend to notice tradition running deep, things move slower in the countryside than in the city, but certainly no less structured.

i'm obviously confined to my own psychology when i take pictures. i photograph what interests me and me only. i like photographing the young and the old because they always do interesting stuff. everything else i shoot just interests me at that particular moment, not much else can be said really.

I am always excited when I see he has posted a new photo. I am drawn into his perspective on the world and the ordinary people he identifies. Somehow he seems to be able to capture a moment in their existance which is poignant, without them having any idea he is there. A voyeur extrodinaire!

This guy is an amazing photographer, he is raw, he captures reality like few people can do here on flickr and he is not afraid of speaking his mind about his own vision of the world and the surrounding reality, and yet, he lets the viewers of his amazing work to have their own conclusions, creating a great bounding bet… Read more

This guy is an amazing photographer, he is raw, he captures reality like few people can do here on flickr and he is not afraid of speaking his mind about his own vision of the world and the surrounding reality, and yet, he lets the viewers of his amazing work to have their own conclusions, creating a great bounding between the photographer, the photography and the viewer of the work he produces. For sure, one of our flickr gems.
