I took up photography more seriously when I retired a few years ago. I favor the one-piece cameras of today, once called "bridge cameras". They have a solid feel, but carry light. I mostly point-and-shoot via hand-held, but will use a monopod at times. I also like my iPhone camera for specific uses, such as broader landscapes. I'm not a camera gear head, subscribing to Adams's notion that it is not the camera, it is the 12 inches behind it.

I have allowed usage of my photos with public parks' entities, such as the Genesee County Parks and the Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge.
