The Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firefighter’s Fund helps the families of firefighters who have been injured or killed in the line of duty. Firefighters race to the frontlines of disaster to protect us. But when the unthinkable happens, where can firefighters go for help? Founded more than 100 years ago, this charity helps widows pay rent and buy food and clothing for their children. It also helps disabled firefighters suffering from burns, wounds, lung problems and job-related cancers. Today, the LAFD serves people who live in the Los Angeles area as well as disaster victims around the world. LAFD teams have been deployed to disasters such as Hurricane Katrina, the World Trade Center attacks and the Haiti earthquake. WODFF helps ensure that, wherever these specialists are performing their duty, their family will be taken care of if tragedy strikes. WODFF is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charity that falls under the administration of the Los Angeles Firemen’s Relief Association (LAFRA)
