One-time professional artist (painter), amateur photographer and - to make a living - finance professional (though recently retired).
I spent 7 years as a landscape painter - having residencies with the National Park Service at Pictured Rocks in Michigan's Upper Peninsula as well as in Arkansas on the Buffalo River. Both were amazing experiences.
In 2007 I had to leave painting as a profession to rebuild my finances - but have had a returning interest in the outdoors and landscape. As of 2023, my primary camera is a Nikon Z-7 (with 24-120 f/4) along with a D750 with 28-300. Now retired, landscape photography is a passion and I am practicing and studying how to bring out the best in my photography.
My favorite locations are Lake Superior and Appalachia - and all of the West - though I find myself more comfortable working with green than the arid desert.
