I was born and raised in Gouda (the Netherlands). I still live there. From 2006-2009 I have studied Human Geography, and in 2010 I've earned a MSc degree in Urban Geography.

I'm currently employed at a municipality in the greater Rotterdam area.

My main focus in photography are "scenes" rather than "people". I always try to capture the atmosphere the way I experience it. When that needs a little editing, so be it. Although I do edit most of my pictures, I feel that it should happen only if it will make the picture feel more real.

Most of my pictures are released through a Creative Commons license, which means they are available to everyone for non-commercial use. I have noticed this did not keep people from using it for commercial purposes. I know the economy is bad, but if you can't afford to pay for creative works, then don't use them.
