My aim is to get New Zealand on the path to a green economy. This is achive by getting people started in making and using alternative energy. We introduced a starter solar system comprising of a 40 watt solar panel, a controller and a 95ah battery for $650. Our experience tells us that once a person starts using alternative energy their whole mindset and attitude towards using energy and the environment changes. After starting with a starter system they will want to increase the amount of energy they produce. We will show them how to upgrade and upscale. Besides the options of grid connect and off grid systems we introduced a hybrid system which allows them to use the solar energy they produce in their homes and switching over to mains power when their batteries run down. This enables them to get the full value for the energy they produce. We will then introduce them to large scale solar system and wind generation as well.
