I'm an American married to a Brazilian and have a beautiful little daughter. We presently reside in Tefe, Amazonas, Brazil where my wife is an administrtor for a 188,000 hectre preserve. I am retired from the Louisville Zoo where I was the headkeaper for the Herp department. My wife and I share an interests in reptiles and amphibians. I work with ecotourism and teach English.

I´m also a veteran of the Army who served in the Special Forces, as an engineer, and then the Army National Guard.

I have many hobbies, one of which is photography. I aspire to be good at it one day.

I have since moved to Brasilia – D. F. Brazil. Back to “civilization” where my car was broken into and stripped out within the first 4 weeks of arriving. We now once again live in the land of many good ethnic restaurants, movie theaters, malls, faster internet, specialized doctors, roads going out of town, supermarkets stocked with a variety of products, newspapers, TV stations, mechanics, crime, pollution, heavy traffic, high cost of living, stress, … .

There are some definite tradeoffs and I miss my gentle, rugged, resourceful friends in the river communities.

In time you´ll notice a difference in my photostream towards Cerrado wildlife.
