I live in Halifax with a second-hand cat named "Smoke." My name is Linda and I am a create-aholic. I cannot resist the lure of color and pattern. Beads, polymer clay and strange items from the dollar store seem to fly into my hands unbidden and I can't walk by a ball of beautiful yarn or a string of silk ribbon without stopping and digging for my wallet. At this point, my supplies need their own apartment and none of my friends would even consider helping me move. Did I mention I also collect stones?

I've been actively involved with craft for over 30 years. In the 80s, with my partner, Val Fulford, I designed, made and sold high-end, one-off knitwear (under the label, "Fulford and Jones") I still like to knit and crochet (and I've added felting to that recently) - but my favorite materials are beads.

My special preferences are bead embroidery and off-loom netting techniques. In 2009, I also returned to working in polymer clay and have been teaching myself the exciting new techniques and innovations that have developed since I last worked in the medium (under the company name, "am.bead.dextrous")

I have taught beadwork privately and through the Nova Scotia Designer Craft Council's Mary Black Gallery. One of my cuff designs will be re-published in 2010 in Bead & Button's "Creative Beading Volume 4."

In 2007, I was invited by the Mary Black Gallery to participate in their wearable art exhibition: "Fashion Forward: Eleven Nova Scotia Designers" and made "Gauntlet for a Saturn Return for that show.

I continue to vex my friends and loved ones by living in my studio every spare minute of my time. And I will likely die divorced and single - unless the universe sends a man directly to my studio to meet me. And all is well!

Namaste, everyone!

I am a proud member of the Etsy Beadweaver Team.
