ABOUT ME
Thanks to everyone who has helped keep me at a 5% share of images on Flickr EXPLORE! And to drive one to over 200,000 views. I love that you you keep coming and commenting so kindly about my work. It makes my every day to be a little contribution to your photography enjoyment .
I recently turned down Corbis, so I can continue to donate my images to environmental and educational causes.
I've been taking photos since I was 8 and built my own darkroom with the help of my Dad. I almost became a pro, but my heart was in nature photography and that's a hard living. Went college, got married, had a kid, and then life happened. My other passions are economics, high-tech, and writing; which is where I built my career. Then in 1998, when I bought a digital camera and Photoshop to see if this was going to turn into a big market. I was hooked. I love digital, it's everything film never was. It favors the creative side of you rather than the technical side. So, for me, it's a great release.
I do love flickr and all the great work of so many photographers. Especially that of the many contacts I have met around the world, people who have somehow found my work enjoyable and send me so many faves and wonderful comments. I do try to view all the photos they post, though I can't possibly comment on so many. I prefer to fav the ones I like, instead of commenting, as it is faster. If I do comment, you know I really mean it. I will also brazenly say I devote a greater proportion of my time to those who spend time reviewing and giving me feedback. I feel that this is only fair.
