"One should really use the camera as thought tomorrow you'll be stricken blind. To live a visual life is an enormous undertaking, practically unattainable. I've only touched it, just touched it." - Dorothea Lange
It is always a challenge to come up with these brief statements about myself. In lieu of the usual attempt at some witty, self-deprecating description I think I'll resort to the facts:
I'm a wildlife biologist who studies birds for a non-profit bird observatory in Fairbanks, Alaska: The Alaska Bird Observatory. But really that is how I pay the bills, I like my job, I adore birds, but I love photography and writing. So I freelance on the side. I've had some articles and images in magazines, I'm represented by a stock agency. But most importantly I'm happiest walking through some tropical country with a camera around my neck.
And as an update, I do some photo and bird guiding on the side. Check out my website: www.wildimagephoto.com for some details.
