Note added January 4, 2009:

It is with deepest sorrow that Bernie, Pepper and I have to add that our Precious Patches succumbed to illnesses far greater than our wonderful vet, Gary Cane of Hillsdale Animal Hospital was able to save her from. Patches went to Doggy Heaven on December 27, 2008.

After 9 years of sharing hearth, home and beds, Pepper is disconsolate about losing Patches. It will be a long time before any of us gets over her loss. Patches was 10 1/2 years old and a few weeks. Pepper was 9 on Dec 7th.

Holidays 2009: We have all survived a difficult year but are now all healthy, happy and looking forward to 2010.
