I joined Flickr to enjoy the images that others produce as well as share my images with others. I have had the good fortune to travel quite a bit, mostly in my work, hence many of the images you see are either business trip produced or I took time off to go to exotic places that were near.

I have been photographing since the late 60s, having taken my first photography class when in high school. My photography lead me to work with United Press on a contract bases, covering all major league sports as well as catastrophic news.

My wife and I also have also been in the custom tour business, putting together and leading tailored photo safaris to Africa since 1981. Even today we still have the occasional trip but now only to East Africa, and both affordable tenting trips or the more expensive luxury trips, both going to the exact same places.

All images are copyright Charles G. Summers, Jr. All images are for sale. For information and price, please contact me either through flickr mail or at the e-mail listed below with intimate details of your intended usage. For more information, please see www.wildimages.biz.

Included within this request is another, please do not use any of my images for artist reference. If this is the intended usage, ask first. If your final art product is for sale, a payment for images usage must be made. If you expect free usage, please don't waste either of our times. Art images that are not for sale are taken on a case by case basis. Please, NO exceptions. If you don't ask, under no circumstances are you able to use. In addition, if I see artists that FAVe my without having a statement on their profile recognizing the copyright laws, I have no choice but to think the worst and take appropriate action.

Finally, DO NOT BLOG MY PHOTOS. I do not want to see my photos used for your free purposes. Again, DO NOT BLOG MY PHOTOS. Along with my desire to not have someone BLOG my photos, I also do not want to see my photos used by other Flickr members in a mosaic on their photosite or profile. Hopefully everyone understands this but there are still a few who don't or who tend to ignore this. So, let me say this again, NO BLOGGING AND NO MOSAICS!

Well one more thing. After being a Flickerite for six plus months, I see a disturbing trend. There are folks that FAV some of my photos that don't let me see their photostream for whatever reason or those that FAV your photos that have an icon yet leave no comment. There also seems to be Iconless favorite collectors, people who FAV other's images yet also leave no comment and do not allow you to see what they are about. Why is this? It doesn't warrant reciprocity I can tell you that! Please, if you care enough to FAV a photo, leave a comment. Those who FAV without commenting, well please understand why you may be blocked from viewing any of my images.

Those that don't allow others to see who we are dealing with will be banned straight away or as I catch them. Those that leave no comment, well learn to do it!

I do find comments that are accompanied by blinking or flashing neon type signs distracting. Please, please do not post this type of comment under my photos. Just leave this part off, please.

I shoot Canon cameras, film type up until 2003 when I switched from the EOS-1v to a Canon 10D digital. I have upgraded since them and all images since 2003 have been digital. In the meantime, I am editing and scanning images from the ten years prior to 2003 that I never got the chance to totally edit other than cherry pick. This will take quite some time so additions to my photostream will be rather slow.

Finally some folks are asking who we go to East Africa with. Rita and I use SAS Safaris at www.sas-safaris.com. I swear Deo Sawaki, the owner of the company, can see through trees and over the horizon. Whitout his assistance, we would not see the vast quantity of animals that we have. Check out his website.

Anybody who has taken a look at the group BORN TO BE WILD will no doubt have noticed what a great fan I am of Charles and his work. A Master of capturing wildlife at it's finest. The actions, the light, the glow.....incredible. There is so much to learn from this remarkable photographer. He is showing us animals in their natural habitat, some of them I've never seen before. His texts inform and inspire. His recent penguin shots are a perfect example - had he not described that the penguins had feasted on krill, I would have thought that they had just come from a wedding massacre at the Godfathers ;-) Charlie, may you and Rita keep on traveling those far away places and show us what wonders there are to be seen, enjoyed and learned about. I thank you for sharing your lifetime passion. Jutta
