My wife and I finished a 2,222 mile Mission Tour down the Mississippi River Trail the summer of 2010. It took 92 days, and we were the FIRST recumbents to complete the entire Trail from sign to sign, and Earline was the first Black woman to complete the MRT on a cycle of ANY kind!

Since that time we have completed 2 additional short Mission Possible Tours: one in 2011 from Orlando to Jacksonville, to the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind in St. Augustine, and then back to Orlando [300 miles], and one from Key West to Orlando in 2014 [500 miles], tackling the 7 mile bridge in the Keys [since Earline is deathly afraid of bridges!]. Our theme was: Facing Your Fears!

We were raising funds and awareness for our non-profit [see GodsHandsAgency.com]. [Also see theWiFiPedalers.com]. We raised 2 Deaf children ourselves, and are concerned with the lack of understanding of this "most commonly overlooked" disability. [Only 10% of parents of Deaf children learn to effectively communicate (i.e. ASL) with their children!] [Yes, 10%.]

It was a learning and teaching tour for us...we already have a lot of information and resources available to teach others, but we continue to learn ourselves. Our unusual looking vehicles are a great conversation starter!

On Mission Possible Tour, #4, Jon left Orlando on the 1st of April, 2021, headed 5,000 miles to Hyder, Alaska. However, when he got to Montana in mid-July of 2021, the Canadian border was still CLOSED per covid-19 restrictions. Oh, no! Is the Tour over?! What to do?!

Someone suggested that he take a hard left at Missoula, ride on the interstate highway [you CAN do that in Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, and some other Western states], head towards Seattle, go UP to Bellingham, WA, way up in the northwest part of the state, and catch a FERRY that goes up to Ketchikan, Alaska! What a great idea!

Jon averaged around 250 miles per week [recumbents are a little slower than a regular bicycle] and arrived in southern Alaska, in Ketchikan, on the 20th of August, ending up only about 50 miles from the original planned destination of Hyder, Alaska. Total mileage ended up being 4,700 miles by trike, and 700 statute miles by ferry for a total of 5,400 miles.

Especially after the crazy year of 2020, we at the WiFi Pedalers have witnessed dire needs by the Deaf, Youth, and Families to re-establish foundations, to clarify within themselves what is right, and good. And if our FAMILIES, if our CITIES, if our COUNTRY wants to be strong and resilient again, we MUST return to these basics.

Our NAME says it all: WORD-INSPIRED-FAMILY-INVOLVEMENT.

The WiFi Pedalers.

The older we get, the more convinced we are of the AUTHORITY of the Word of God, of the Bible, and the VALUE that studying it, and memorizing it holds.

Throughout the 4th Mission POSSIBLE Tour, Jon not only shared large sections of Scripture that he had memorized, but also gave ideas and strategies to others how THEY TOO could "hide God's Word in their heart." He literally asked THOUSANDS of people along his 5,400 mile trek what THEIR gift was. Peter the disciple, one of the best friends of Jesus, encouraged through his first letter, Christians who had escaped persecution in Jerusalem to what is modern-day Turkey, to "find their gift." In 1 Peter 4:10 he wrote, "God has given EACH of you a gift from His great variety of spiritual gifts, so USE them well to SERVE [to help] one another."

Don't hesitate to get in touch with us, and we will see if we can co-ordinate an event at your location, to share how "With God, ALL things are POSSIBLE!" [Even triking over 5,000 miles!]

And if you are able to help support us in our work with the Deaf, your gifts and contributions will sincerely be appreciated. See GodsHandsAgency.com for details. THANK YOU!
