Have been serious photographer since the 1970's, for about the past 30 years including videography and video editing. I have quite a bit of experience restoring, enhancing and cleaning up photos, as well as scanning 35mm slides, negatives and pictures.
I do offer photography and videography services as well as cleaning up of negatives, slides and prints, but I am mostly retired and will only take on a job I will enjoy.
It's kind of a shame these days, cameras are capable of some stunning high res images but more and more people are viewing them on a phone or some other small screen where resolution really doesn't much matter. A 640 X 480 image will look damn good on a 3" X 5" screen, you'll never appreciate the detail a real camera can capture.
Some reasons I will never use a phone for pictures (or a camera to make calls) :)
1. Phones do not have 35X (or more) “optical” zoom (if any)
2. Phones have no viewfinder
(viewfinder makes it easier to compose and better shows
if you are focused, etc. also steadier handheld position)
3. Phones do not have as many manual options as cameras
4. Photos from phones look good on phones, often not large monitors
(on a small screen you can’t tell 640X480 from 4k)
5. Phones don’t often have a tripod mount (although they can be
used with tripods with adapters)
6. For video, phones mostly (if not all) do not have the sound
recording quality of a good camera with stereo mics
7. Most Phones don’t have external mic input
8. Even if they have a flash phones do not have flash options
like a hot-shoe, or various positions for flash usage.
9. They may try to simulate it but phones aren’t able to use lens
filters, lens hoods or lens extenders
10. Many phones do not have removable batteries so on a long
shoot you’d have to recharge.
There are other advantages such as burst speed, etc. Some of my cameras have a 350+ page manual, that should tell you something.
Let me know what you need and I might be interested.
