This November, four modern-day adventurers will take a 42 day border to border trek by foot and by bike across Bhutan, one of the last Buddhist kingdoms on Earth and the only country in the world to focus on Gross National Happiness over Gross Domestic Product.

Through a partnership with the Bhutan Olympic Committee, the Expedition Bhutan team has been granted unprecedented access to pioneer this route from the western edge where the Himalayas meet China to the eastern border touching India. The film will follow the team through sweeping landscapes of one of the world’s most beautiful and well-preserved natural environments on a route never before trekked by Westerners. This expedition will demand not only physical and mental endurance, but will push our team to understand progress through a different lens. We will meet with policymakers, poets, archers, environmentalists and engineers to engage in the age-old cultural inquiry -- What values do we have as individuals, as communities, and as nations, and how do these values coincide with the emergence of an increasingly modernized world?
