IF YOU FAVE ONE OF MY PICTURES, BUT DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING I CAN VIEW ON YOU PHOTOSTREAM, OR YOUR CONTACT LIST, I WILL BLOCK YOU.
ATTENTION: If you are a creepy pedophile or some other kind of gross subhuman person who would like to cause harm to me or my children, please don't. I warn you now that I WILL greatly hurt you .
I am pretty much a momma bear when it comes to my children. As I am a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, I could inflict much pain onto you. Really I would rather not have to resort to that; however, don't think that a little thing like your big size will trump the awesome blind rage of a mother protecting her young.
It is people like you who make a cool site, like Flickr, a scary place. Get some therapy and stay away from the children (ALL CHILDREN) - you cannot be around them due to your serious mental, personality and sexual disorder. I'll pray for you.
As for everyone else who is not a pedophile or a subhuman, disregard the previous momma bear rant. Although if you want I could pray for you too. We could all use a little prayer.
IF YOU ARE STILL READING THIS... and I am a little amazed that you are, I'm glad you like my work. If you couldn't figure it out... this is my therapy... it's what I do so I don't have to take a million little happy pills. I am hyper honest to a fault... warts and all, but that's the way I am. I try not to go back and edit myself too much because this is my story, and no one else is going to write it for me.
All hail, St. Chick, patroness of photographers, mothers who feed their children with too much frozen, boxed and canned good, black belt (the lower belts have to find another saint,) and all who have to air brush in their own halos.

Jenna makes photos and performances. By parodying mass media by exaggerating certain formal aspects inherent to our contemporary society, Jenna touches various overlapping themes and strategies. Several reoccurring subject matter can be recognised, such as the relation with popular culture and media, working with repetition, provocation and the investigation of the process of expectations. Her photos often refers to pop and mass culture. Using written and drawn symbols, a world where light-heartedness rules and where rules are undermined is created. By putting the viewer on the wrong track, she tries to create works in which the actual event still has to take place or just has ended: moments evocative of atmosphere and suspense that are not part of a narrative thread. The drama unfolds elsewhere while the build-up of tension is frozen to become the memory of an event that will never take place. Her works are saturated with obviousness, mental inertia, clichés and bad jokes. They question the coerciveness that is derived from the more profound meaning and the superficial aesthetic appearance of an image. By using popular themes such as sexuality, family structure and violence, she makes works that can be seen as self-portraits. Sometimes they appear idiosyncratic and quirky, at other times, they seem typical by-products of American superabundance and marketing. Her works are given improper functions: significations are inversed and form and content merge. Shapes are dissociated from their original meaning, by which the system in which they normally function is exposed. Initially unambiguous meanings are shattered and disseminate endlessly.

This has got to be one among just a few of my favorite photostreams. It's never simply a photo and a short caption, but a lengthy story that led her to the photograph. She shares her life, her thoughts, sorrows, joys, rants, raves, frustrations, and pretty much normal events of life with total strangers as if she has known them all her life. I look forward every day to see what she has writeen new in her Flickr diary. I particularly enjoy her (how could I put it)...warped, or at least distorted sense of humor, especially at herself. I must admit that I am addicted to her stories just as much as I enjoy her remarkable photography. She has taught me to write about my own photographs, although not nearly as well. Thank you so much for showing me what you see and think through the viewfinder. Keep the outstanding images and stories coming!
