I am an avid amateur photographer. I received my first camera, a brand-new Kodak Hawkeye, at the age of seven and casually shot film until 2000. That year I bought my first digital camera and became obsessed. Today I shoot both digital and film. I love the immediate gratification and editability of digital, but there is just something primal about Black & White film.

By profession, I am a retired airline pilot. While flying I always had a small film camera in my flight case but found I took a lot more photos when I replaced the small film cameras I was carrying with a Nikon E990, then various other digitals. My primary (non-Flight Case) cameras have been Olympus SLRs (since 1972) and Nikon SLRs (since 1980). In the DSLR era I have worked my way up through various Nikons from the D100 to my current Z8 and Zfc.

While I can't claim to be a photographic artist (certainly not compared to others on Flickr), I hope you enjoy my photos.
