INTRODUCTION (dutch version below)

Photos are found everywhere, from advertisement campaigns to museums. Photography is a relatively new form of art that has made itself an integral part of our society and reaches everyone.

Photography appears to be the medium best capable of rendering reality objectively. The question remains whether reality even exists and whether we can perceive it, let alone capture it on film - and that is not my goal. My subjective perception of reality is what matters.

The subjects are as varied as my daily life. From my point of view, all things and all experiences are unique. Therefore, no subject is more special than the next.

Having said that, my photography remains a selection of impressions. And if my photos must serve a purpose, then I hope that they may serve to portray the beauty and marvel in things that we often blindly pass by.

Ter inleiding

Overal vind je foto's, van reclamefolder tot museum. Fotografie is een relatief nieuwe kunstvorm die een deel uitmaakt van onze samenleving en iedereen bereikt.

Fotografie lijkt het beste medium te zijn om de werkelijkheid objectief weer te geven. Los van de vraag of er wel iets bestaat als dé werkelijkheid, of we deze kunnen waarnemen, laat staan fotograferen, is het helemaal niet mijn doelstelling om deze proberen vast te leggen. Mijn subjectieve beleving van de werkelijkheid staat centraal.

De onderwerpen zijn even gevarieerd als mijn leven. In mijn ogen zijn alle dingen en de alle ervaringen ervan uniek. Geen enkel onderwerp is dus meer bijzonder dan een ander.

Toch is ook mijn fotografie een selectie van impressies. En als mijn foto’s dan toch een doel moeten dienen, hoop ik dat ze mensen laten zien hoe uniek en bijzonder de dingen zijn waar we vaak aan voorbij lopen.
