WesGold Fellows Summer Internship Program, or WGF, explores a students imagination, motivation and career aspirations. “It’s one of the best programs I’ve ever completed”, says WGF graduate Malaya McNeil (2008). Through four key principles, students are exposed to the “real world” and are prepared for the fight of their life: the ability to live a secure lifestyle full of opportunities.
The WesGold Fellows Internship was designed to increase youth awareness and exposure to large scale real estate development and its impact on their community. The mission is to provide twelve (12) inner city high school students with an intimate view and understanding of the multiple components of financial education, college planning, personal development, and career development.
West Philadelphia Financial Services Institution (WPFSI) was founded in December 1997 as a community-based, 501(c)3, non-profit organization that is dedicated to the advancement and empowerment of businesses and residents through (1) providing loans, (2) developing real estate, and (3) teaching financial education. The WesGold Fellows continues to improve the lives of the bright students of West Philadelphia.
