I am a young, active photographer. I first became interested in photography through my father, but it was as a student that I decided to take my interest to a professional level. I have been running my own business for 9 years.

As a photographer, I combine spontaneity, well-organized composition and careful exploitation of light to create aesthetically pleasing end results. For me, camera work is only part of the photographic process – in my view, pictures that leave a lasting impression are usually the result of solid research, an experienced eye, and careful and subtle post-production work.

In my photography I aim to show the forgotten aspects of everyday life, aspects that can be extraordinarily beautiful for anyone taking the time to stop and look. This quest for beauty sometimes takes me to commonly photographed places. However, I choose to take the back street that no one takes, to consciously take a wrong turn, in search of the everyday romance that exists, in its simplest form, around us all.

My gateway to the world of photography was the digital darkroom. As a teenager, I worked after school in the pre-press department of a local printer, which was where I first came into contact with the digital darkroom and desktop publishing. And it was this, combined with a flair for graphics and a keen interest in computers, that laid the foundations for my, now, advanced skills in digital imaging.

I have always photographed digitally. My first single lens reflex camera was an EOS D30 and my first professional camera an EOS 1Ds-mk 2. The latest version consists of a Canon 1Ds-mk 3 body with both fixed and so-called ‘tilt-shift’ lenses. With its ability to control perspective and fantastic picture quality, the EOS system is the best of its kind. The robust and weatherproof body also makes photography possible in even the most hostile conditions.

The focus of my work is the portrayal of buildings and interiors – a demanding task both aesthetically and technically – but I also sell stock images, mainly depicting natural and urban environments, via the prestigious Swedish picture agency Folio. Finally, I am based in the south of Sweden, a location that continues to capture the interest and imagination of aesthetes in Sweden and abroad.
