Wenspics' photography is a work in progress. Which is to say she doesn't settle - in any sense of the word - and though you'll be impressed by her work right from the start, if you think you've got her pegged wait for her next photo and you'll be even more impressed. And Wenspics first impresses with some of the most revealing - yet modest - self-portraits on Flickr. And then she reveals herself as subtly with photos of the animals, lakes, sunsets, sunrises, forests, rivers, roads and road warriors (her Peterbilt and Kenworth), and other year-round all-weather rural scenes of the world which just happens to make up her Manitoba. Not to count photos of the most familiar backyard in Canada. (Everybody's heard of Gretzky's backyard, but how many know what it actually looked like?) Wenspics' photography tends toward art. And the initial objectives of art are to grab your attention and hold it and Wenspics' photos do both in ways we often haven't seen before. Rewarding your attention is the 2nd objective of art - or should be - and Wenspics photos do this too. In 'Seasons Change', 'Guiding Light' (no, it's not a soap opera), 'Going Home' and 'Rolled Gold', the sky and land share equally. Fences and roads and shadows both break up and enforce formal compositions. Backlighting is used in the first 2 photos to reveal the land's colours and the sky balances but does not dominate the compositions. In 'Going Home' the sky is secondary, except for its light, the use of which is as brilliant. 'Rolled Gold' shows an equally effective use of more direct lighting - and I never believed I'd see bales of straw this beautiful. These photos are a few among many others just as stunning, they use extensive postprocessing, and they reveal the tact Wenspics pursues when she's at her peak. I also admire her photos when she touches base with her business (the road warriors: 'Night Shift', 'Follow The Moon') and her family ('The Magic Of Cartoons', 'All Of Life', 'I'll Show You'). Throughout her progress Wenspics' terms haven't changed. She still affectionately isolates what's essential in her subjects and gives it right back to her Flickr viewers with the same affection. Which is the ultimate objective of art. Or at least it should be.

Wendy is a beautiful person both inside and out, which shows in buckets through her photography. She is creative; talented, humorous , enthusiastic and well, just an all-round super person. Not frightened to experiment and take the criticism on the chin she has persevered and developed a technique, Wendy's Processed Technique (WPT) that can change the most mundane of photo's into stunning works of art. I feel very lucky to have Wendy as one of my favourite Flickr friends and always enjoy her comments, mails and photos. Glad your there Wen X

I'm glad having found Wendy's stream on flickr. Her work is so versatile - from stunning landscapes to the monsters of the highway, everything captured in a beautiful way - and - with a absolutely stunning processing applied which sometimes leaves me 'mouth-open' and speechless. She has developed something other photographers are searching for the whole life - she'd found her own unique style. I think I could pick her images out of a huge pile. Keep on that great work Wendy - thank you for sharing - and btw. thank you for one of my favorite groups (I still remember my first flickr~days thinking how do I get one of these 'Oscars' for one of my images ;)). CU Online, Wendy!

Wendy is not dead, in fact life is what exudes from here stream, her comments, her administration (she co-administers the best darn group on flickr) and her friendship. She humbly thinks she is not a great photographer while in fact she has this magical ability to make the simple explode with beauty. She is a servant meaning she is always willing to help others. She is a fantastic flickr community member. Flickr would be much poorer without her. Keep up the great work Wendy!

Wendy takes what most might pass up on a daily basis and captures it masterfully. Her portrayals of snowy scenes, natural phenomena, flora and fauna, and quaint landscapes are a pleasure to view. Even more rewarding are her wonderful compositions, be her purpose something as straight-forward as a landscape or interpretive as an abstract, her images add a sane, lady's touch to today's world of chaotic processing. This Zen-like thought must also be drives Wendy in her cooperative lead of My Winners. Having the patience and devotion to lead one of the most popular groups on Flickr must be beyond demanding, requiring endless patience. For that, praise and thanks are in order: Thank you, Wendy, for being a wonderful friend, and a great part of the community.
Read lessI see Wenspics photos as storytellers. So many different kind of shots, yet all done so wonderfully. She adds great constructful comments, and is a wonderful guest to my groups. Keep up the good work. I can not wait to see more!
