Photography is one of the many joys in my life. I like the way it simultaneously separates me from life and immerses me in it. I like that it makes me look at the world in new ways. I like the cameras themselves- how they look, feel and sound. I like looking through view finders, clicking shutters, and the pull of advancing film. I like getting to the end of a roll and the between time that follows, the anticipation. I like looking at my prints, over and over. I like photos that turn out exactly as I wanted and ones that turn out different than I ever could have imagined. I like the urge to get back out and try again with the photos that don't strike a cord with me. I like that sometimes I don't care for a photo one day, but as life creates change I fall in love with that same photo. I like the memories that resurface when looking at old photos. Most of all I like the feelings that photographs stir.

I truly appreciate the kind comments that are left on my photos (any constructive criticism is welcome as well). The world is full of lovely people and many of them can be found here on flickr. I also enjoy looking through others' photos, which rarely fail to make me feel and often inspire me to try new things (or retry old ideas).
