I'm an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hiking, birding and nature study in general. I also like to garden on our two acres south of Harrisonburg, Virginia.

I teach journalism and graphics at James Madison University. I studied photojournalism years ago at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, and have recently started to do a lot of work with birds, butterflies, dragonflies and landscapes with an emphasis on western Virginia.
