I've been an "amateur photographer" since I got my first Barbie cam back in the 90s, and have slowly built up experience over the years. I'm not a professional, but I do enjoy taking photographs of the things around me.

I'm actually an oil painter (BFA Studio Art from Centre College), but I still use the digital and photography world for my art fixes. My day job is in media production in the internet security world, and I'm also illustrating an awesome book, "Cyber Security & Ethics & Stuff (For Kids & Teens & Parents & Teachers)."

I often photograph pets, my friends and family, nature and bugs, and travels. Generally, I only use Photoshop to tweak lighting or white balance, but I do more heavily altered things for fun sometimes. I also like to make diptychs and triptychs with my photos, either to showcase photos I couldn't narrow down to a single upload or to tell a story.

I work almost entirely with a 5 year old Canon DSLR Rebel XTi with only 3 lenses: a 50mm macro, a Lensbaby Composer, and a standard 18-55 mm. I would like to have more, but I'm not rich and what I've got seems to suit my purpose fine. I've also got a few cheap film cameras I carry around, a vintage Minolta that I've never figured out how to fix, and my crappy camera phone (Samsung S2).

Feel free to contact me for freelance opportunities, whether they be for graphic/web design, illustration, or pet photography. Message me via Flickr or visit my portfolio website, Weird Aesthetics (coming soon).
