I've always liked taking pictures and more times than not I think about the shot well before I push the button. I try to think a lot about the basics like the rule of thirds, watching lines such that they don't distract (like a tree through a person's head). Now that I have a digital SLR (EOS XTi) I've gotten much more into the hobby again and I'm really having a great time with it. I find photography to be a fun and relaxing experience. I love the results and the process of finding and taking a good shot.
