After achieving a BFA in Art Education from Virginia Commonwealth University and an MA from Western Illinois University, I accepted various teaching positions in both Virginia and Illinois. Then I moved farther west landing in Phoenix, Arizona. In Phoenix, I became immersed in the commercial world of advertising art. I collaborated with two other creative individuals and formed a company called, Phoenix Graphitti. After a few years, I accepted a job as Associate Creative Director for Lamar Owens and Partners. I shot thousands of photographs and produced many videos. Through the years, as an Art Director and Creative Director, I hired and observed many of the best photographers and film producers in the West. I learned from watching. I accepted a position as Art Director for Arizona Highways Magazine. As the digital world engulfed the traditional school of photography, I embraced it. That fascination has led me to the world of Digital Still Photography, Digital Videography, and Computer 3D animation. Continuing in the commercial world throughout the '80s and ‘90s, my journey has led me from Arizona, back to Virginia, and now Southern Florida. Living in Florida gave me the opportunity to go diving and take underwater photographs. I've been a certified diver since 1986 and completed the NITROX training in 2016. I am now retired from Lockheed Martin Undersea Systems as a 3D Animation Artist, Photographer, Aerial Photographer, and Videographer. My position allowed me to continue to use my creative vision. This unique vision has kept me busy for over 25 years and I continue to develop a reputation as a creative individual.
