I love nature. I learn to listen to his/her wisdom - what humans have forgotten to do. Most of my pictures are taken in nature - most lack people. This is not intentional - it just happens. I love my wife, my daughter, my mother, my dogs Shakti, Chance and Faith, my extended family and my friends - and I should have taken more pictures of them... But it would disturb nature in my pictures to always/mostly show people - maybe as we humans disturb nature, take over. There needs to be some peace, tranquility, pristine. I guess that is what I am looking for, what I try to capture...
And I am allergic against "photoshopping" pictures. It is so tiresome looking at all those "picture perfect" images... As if nature - and the real world is not beautiful enough. Yes, I take digital pictures - now. And I scanned a lot of my older slides and negatives - it is so much more convenient...
However, besides sometimes adjusting brightness and contrast, I am not doing anything to my pictures - even if they are badly illuminated and have faded colors or such. It would be one thing if I would know and remember exactly how I saw the world when taking the picture - and then remodeling it - but I don't. The machine probably did not take the picture authentically either - but at least I am not interfering?
