Long before I blogged about food, I sampled as much of the local cuisine as I could when I traveled. From haggis and deep-fried Mars bars in Scotland to kangaroo pizza and wattleseed ice cream in Australia, food allows me to experience another culture. Food is comfort -- conjuring memories of traveling or allowing opportunities to gather with family and friends. Sometimes I post about gardening and crafting, more comforts, but not nearly as pleasurable as food.
