Exploring with fiber and fabric has been part of my life since the early age of three when I made my first doll clothes from scraps found beneath my mother's old Necchi sewing machine. Over the years I have only allowed this exploration to be an outlet, my creative moments found after long days of dealing with staff and students as a special education teacher. I find myself wanting more, to be able to make a new journey,a journey filled with hours, not moments in the studio.

Rejoining the groups at Flicker after many many months away. I am a bit confused by some of the changes I am finding here.

I continue to have great fun being inspired by the absolutely most awesome works of art people create.

Looking forward to re-expanding my photos, creating and joining groups and swaps...I am looking towards a time when I can work full time in my studio so exploring the internet, making connections and learning from all of you has been wonderful. I am trying my hand at blogging..join me as I muddle my wau through...

I have entered several swaps and found that people want to know a little about my style and taste in fabrics.

Let's be honest, I am a collector of fabric.

Several years ago, and now again, I have started to reopen my personally designed handbag business selling exclusively to individuals. My hopes are that the door will re-opened and I will be retunring to the garment district in NY and making purchases on from all over the world.

When one door closes another opens. I have been blessed with two wonderful grandchildren who are constantly requesting for "Mema"...make me something please.

Grandchildren have opened the flood gates to creating with fabric once agian.

My current fabric loves: Alexander Henery, Amy Butler, Kaffee Fassett, fabric with text, and recent finds from the Japanese fabric market. I find those lovely little 2 inch square collects just enough to sample a new fabirc line, to experiment with various colorways and to create a little treasure.

I tend to lean towards earth tones when choosing fabrics. Greens, blues, browns deep reds and purples are by far the most prominent colors in my stash.....BUT....I have busted out my comfort zones and find myslef just experimenting with color, any color andy pattern...just creating...

So if you are creating something for me, I ask you to experiment, move outside your comfort zone and just design!!!! I will love anything you create!!! Have fun.....
