By profession I am a Professor at Durham University in Engaland, where I am involved in microbiology research. I have had a passion for photography for a number of years but never very seriously. However, during the last year I have become more engaged and gone from using an iPhone and Canon SX210 to take photographs at the beginning of 2013, to a Canon SX50 and most recently to a Nikon D7100. I have a lot to learn! Flickr is a great stimulus and inspiration to improve. Anyway, it is all about enjoying yourself, and recording nature in it's magnificent glory would seem a worthwhile pursuit. Please feel free to comment on any of my pictures - I am here to learn!
