Wakiya is a Colonial Spanish Horse. A horse developed from Spanish Conquestidors' escaped, stolen, and traded mounts. The breed descended from Andalusian, North African Barb, Jennet and the native Spanish Sorraia horse ancestors. Once reaching the New World these horses became Native American buffalo runners, war ponies, mounts of the pony express, and the first cowhorse of the west. After a near annihliation of the original horses, about 3000 still remain today. I am proud to own one of these horses.

Wakiya is primarily a Choctaw/Gilbert Jones Foundation bred horse(28.125%), 25% Bookcliffs, Utah (a strain of horses realeased into the remote canyons by the Ute tribe), 12.5% Brislawn Foundation, 12.5% Banker, North Carolina, 12.5% Cherokee Tribe strain, 6.25% Crow tribe strain, amd 3.125% Huasteca, Old Mexico.

Her training is going well and she is progressing and growing into a lovely horse.
