When you look at Valerie's photostream, you will be amazed by her talent and eye for nature. Her flower, animal, butterfly and bird shots are second to none. What's more, you will see what a truly beautiful person she is. Valerie's zoo shots seem like she is in the exhibit with the animals. They are stunning. Valerie is a wonderful flickr friend. She is always quick to comment on a photo with her kind words. Once we finally met in person, I grew to consider Valerie and her husband Mark to be very dear friends as well. Valerie is one of my very first contacts on Flickr. We have made this photographic sharing journey together now for close to one year. I have been seriously amiss for not writing this testimonial many months ago. Valerie and I share a deep love of nature. The spectrum of this interest is vast to say the least from flowers to birds and everything in between. She observes the world around her with an intensity few possess. In all of her animal and bird images Valerie captures that very rare sense of emotion and expression that all animals display but most do not see. When you look at her animal shots you always see a comical, intense, thoughtful or FUN expression these creatures are demonstrating. Valerie has an excellent eye for detail, which can be seen in her macros of an insects wings to an amazing in flight view of a bird or birds soaring above. Her range of photographic skills is a marvel to me. She is also a very diverse photographer in that she shows us views of her favorite hockey team the "Chicago Blawkhawks" taking to the ice to meet their opponent or a wide scoping scene from the heart of the city of Chicago. What really grabs me about Valerie's photos is how she can share what seems to be the thoughts her subject matter is thinking. I see this everytime I look at one of her extreme close up views of any animal or bird that wanders in front of her lens. Their eyes can cause you to become mesmerized by their gaze so much so it is hard to pull yourself away. If you don't spend some quality time observing each and every image it is your loss because she opens up the world of nature to us all in her very own special way and style! One small item I just can't leave without mentioning is Valerie's LOVE OF THE ZOO!!! The series of shots from every ZOO visit are nothing less than SPECTACULAR!! She captures the essence of an animals spirit and for me it always feels as if I am on a wonderful safari with Valerie as the guide. Her shots of the KING VULTURE are outstanding! Valerie's photo stream is a FUN place to visit and I cannot emphasize FUN enough, because her images bring me nothing but delight!!! It is my great pleasure to call Valerie my FRIEND!
