Howard is one of the most talented people that I have found on Flickr and a good friend to boot. He is incredibly knowledgeable and willing to share his knowledge with those of us who are new to photography. His work is more than just a Photograph, it is an experience! His sunsets and landscapes and everything in between are so spectacular that you forget that you are looking at a picture. The most amazing thing about Howard is his ability to capture and bring out the best qualities of a scene in front of him and the people he is photographing. Having known him for almost a year, I have seen him develop into an amazing photographer over such a short time. Though he can be a bit rough on himself at times, he is of the mindset that you should be constantly trying to learn and develop skills in your daily work. I completely agree; Howard has, on several occasions, asked me questions I have not known the answers to. This has been a wonderful way to learn, giving me confidence and helping me move forward in areas that I never though existed or possible with my frames. Finding the answers to photography's difficult questions is what Howard is all about; he lives for details and that technical stuff! I can see Howard continuing his craft *way* beyond what he is doing now; he definitely has a gift for portraits and capturing the best in people. He has truly been a great friend and contact!

I think maybe it must be the water... Howard is one of a group of wonderful photographers that center around Lorain, Ohio. I've been friends with his wonderful wife, and his mother-in-law and father-in-law for quite some time. Howard may have been the last of this group to have caught the photo bug, but he's certainly made up for lost time. His progress shows that he's always been a natural photographer and he now captures images that have no superior. His recent series of sunsets by the Lorain Lighthouse are as vivid in color and crisp in detail as any sunsets I've seen. With his wife Holly, they definitely make the most talented couple on Flickr. They also show that Canon and Nikon can live together in peace! Great going, Howard!

I first noticed Howard's photos of Volkswagens and from their our mutual admiration for VDubs has grown into a flickr friendship. I enjoy immensely interacting through flickr with Howard and his wife Holly (Teacherholly) as they are just really nice down to earth people who love photography as much as I do! Howard leaves thoughtful commentary on my photos which I appreciate very much. Plus Howard has a GTI twin of my car and Holly has the XTi twin of my camera so they totally rock!!
