I'm a freelance music photographer from the city of Nijmegen (Netherlands). Photography has always been one of the most important things in my life since I bought my first camera at age 18, second only to making music playing guitar, drums and bass guitar (and a bit of keyboard). I started out making concert photos in the early eighties, but after a while work, building a home and starting a family took priority over this hobby. In those year most of my photography revolved around documenting vacations, special moments, family outings, trips, etc. This all changed after a painful divorce late 2007.
I'd already moved to digital photography a few years prior and began taking my digital camera to the occasional concert. In 2012 I secretly photographed a recorded performance by American progressive rock 'supergroup' Flying Colors at venue 013 in Tilburg (Netherlands) and posted those photos on my Facebook, tagging the band. Shortly after their manager contacted me about those photos. Long story short, about a year later Flying Colors' live-album Live In Europe (2013) was released and one of my photos was included in the artwork. With this publication to my name I was able to officially photograph more bands and build a portfolio. In 2015 I joined the photocrew of local venue Doornroosje in Nijmegen and in 2019 I gbegan photographing for ZwareMetalen.com. Since my first publication several other live-albums from Flying Colors and two albums by famous keyboardist Don Airey have featured my photos on the cover and in the artwork.
